Don't feel bad. I felt the SAME way the last time I tried to knit. By the end of the day, those knitting needles were stabbed right into a large ball of yarn.

Perhaps consider crochet? Basic stitches in crochet are very easy to do---the simplest thing ever is to make a scarf. Get some quick-knit wide gauge yarn and a large crochet needle and give it a try!

You are so cute and when it comes to knitting, I'm right there with you! Practice and patience is all I can say. Don't be so hard on yourself!! You'll get it. At first, I could not for the life of me "cast on". I just didn't get it. My dear husband went on to YouTube to find me a video [tutorial] that spelled it out for me and then I got it. Yay! Might I offer a little encouragement here? I can knit the basic stitch. I learned mostly from looking at photos online, but had a little help from my grandmother. It's not hard doing the basic stitch, but I don't know about the others. It took me about half an hour to get the basic stitch downpat.

You're not alone. I've tried...and will try again, I'm sure. I had all these visions of knitting hats and booties and sweaters for my first baby...now my 2nd baby is 8 months and so far I've finished nothing. Every time I've tried I lose count or just get confused. It's so frustrating because it FEELS like something I should love. Ugh. Oh well. Keep trying!

I have yet to try knitting but I'm not good at crocheting. It takes too much of me - I just get stressed about it (stupid, I know). I just want it all to be perfect. I made 2 things crocheted. Two blankets. My son's came apart in the wash. I don't know if my niece's ever gets used.

Hang in there! It is really hard getting started. I learned 12 years ago, and got the hang of it within a few months. It felt like your fingers were all over the place at first, but it will get easier. I wish I could be there to help!
