This, more frequently than any other salutation or question, is what I am most consistently bombarded with, from the moment my children wake, until I am walking out of their room at bed time.
A simple question, indicative of their curiosity and powers of observation. And on a grander scale, penchant for imitation.
Children learn my modeling the behaviors of adults. They want to do as I do.
When they inquire as to the nature of my actions, it forces me to examine them as well. Am I using my time wisely? Am I applying myself in a cheerful, productive manner? Am I blessing my children through faithful education, diligent work, and loving play?
Am I {as the Shaker saying goes,} keeping my "hands to work, heart to God?"
When little eyes are watching, what will your answer be?
{Want to know what I'm doing? You never have to wonder!}

This is a great reminder! Thank you!
Oh so true and so important to regularly ask ourselves...preferably before our children do! :)
Wow! a beautiful picture with your sister, it is a precious reminder for both of you.
Yes, a great reminder indeed. Thanks so much!
Great reminder...my youngest still asks me that almost everyday.
Children really are great accountability, aren't they?
I'm constantly worrying about this. What am I doing and passing on with observant little eyes and minds.
Sometimes it makes me feel as if I've failed in some way.
But I do keep trudging on.
Yes, you're so right!! One day my kids asked if I could stay off the computer for one day!!
Always trying, but sometimes YES and sometimes NO. And they still keep on lovin' me!! Thank goodness! Have a great weekend ~ ♥
Spending too much time on the computer!!!!
I feel blessed that in our home the second most popular question after "What are you doing?" is "Can I help?"
(Someday I'll teach my 4 year old the difference between "can I" and "may I" but right now, how can I complain?) :)
Wow! That's a lot to think about.
It's amazing how much even the smallest munchkins are watching!
They watch and internalize EVERYTHING!
Isn't it funny how having children can make you want to be a better person?
This really is such a great reminder. They do imitate... everything!!!
So true! FP copies what I do and EP copies FP...!
