Rose is my little Sugar Plum - my precious, priceless Christmas gift. In order to demarcate her birthday as a separate, and very important occasion, I decorate our Christmas tree with a special collection of ornaments in her honor.
In light of her recent obsession with ballet, and more recently, The Nutcracker, this year's tree is adorned with accouterments in line with that theme.
The magical aspect of a birthday in this early stage of life is that each time she beholds an ornament, sparkling in the Christmas lights, she is enchanted anew.

NOTHING AS SWEET AS THE TREE AND A CHILD NEXT TO IT! ME AND MY LITTLE GRANDSON HAVE BEEN WAVING TO OURSELVES IN THE GLOBES...IT'S FUN! Come say hi :D
Love it!! Maybe she needs a little picture and note from one of the ballerinas in the "Waltz of the Flowers" this year ... I happen to know one. :-)
That is really special and oh so sweet.

How Sweet.
What a lucky little lady to have such a thoughtful mama!
What a great idea! You are such a wonderful Mommy. And she is as precious as can be. Oh my goodness so darling! : )
Beautiful picture and what a sweet idea! I remember when my children were little. One year, the night the tree went up, my son asked if he could sleep in front of it.
Eventually his brother joined him and it became a tradition. They would both fall asleep while the tree twinkled away!
Beautiful! What a precious to honor your daughter's birthday!
So beautiful!
You just reminded me that I need to get busy decorating.
My daughter also loves ballet. She was enrolled in a couple ballet classes as well. Something we hope to be able to continue with in the future (they aren't cheap!)
And what a sweet idea for your birthday girl. :)
Beautiful shot.

Oh so sweet! Happy birthday to her. Your tree is lovely. I'm a huge ballet fan...studied for years. My daughter has recently started classes (on her own accord) and I love being back at the studio again..if only to watch.

I love photos of children by the tree, so beautiful...
What a simply gorgeous photo. That is so sweet she had her own special set of ornaments. I loved the Nutcracker as well!
It looks like I'm going to have a little one within a few weeks of Christmas this year. I'll have to keep this in mind because I really want to make sure her birthday isn't overwhelmed by Christmas every year.
what a beautiful picture!!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for visiting/commenting my blog!
That was beautiful!
what a lovely way to honor the day of your daughters birth!
So pretty! And what a great theme. I was just listening to The Nutcracker today.
I love the idea of a candy tree, and the colors you chose are lovely.
What a neat idea! My son's birthday is a week after Christmas, and I made a promise to myself when I found out how close to Christmas he would be born that I would make an extra effort to separate his birthday from Christmas, because it's so important for kids to feel that their birthday is a special day just for them!
Gorgeous tree! And Rose too. I really like your idea of picking special ornaments for her. :)
My little Jackson was born on the 29th. I'm still not sure how I'll separate his birthday from Christmas, but I need to think of something soon!
