My children frequently speak to me in their own charming little language. Although in their attempts at learning to use proper language they resort to non-sensical words, I generally understand the point of their infantile communication. Truthfully, I have a tendency to "hear through" the words they actually use, to the words they are mimicking.
Naturally, when Lily returns my proclamations of love, and declares her own toward me, I hear her saying, "I love you."
Only recently, upon closer inspection, did I come to the realization that rather than "love," she was in fact saying, "butt."
As in, "I butt you, Mami."
Thank you ever so.
I butt you too, kid.

That is so funny! To quote the Bee Gees, the real question is...How big is your butt? ;-)
I love it, they say the best things ever!
So cute. I miss the mispronounced words. Shiloh says most of them correctly now, but I miss the baby talk.
So funny! I'm with Jenn. When my kids start saying things right I feel a little wistful about it. I miss it!
I love it! Casiday would say, "Schrub my back, Mommy, please." So, we still say "Schrub" instead of rub ... but reading this makes me miss those days of "kerbatchin" for Sebastian on Little Mermaid and all the other sweet misspoken words from when she was wee. :-)
LOL. This is so cute and funny. Yes I butt you too kid *giggle*
