Picture Day - Eleventh Grade

You may have discerned from the title of this post that my school photo series is nearly complete, praise the Lord!

Mercy, mercy, mercy.  My junior year of high school.  Perhaps one of my strangest, and also one of my worst years, in life, as well as on film.

At that time in my life, I had become mysteriously photogenic.  You would never know that, however, based on this photograph!

Let us look past my gnarly teenage complexion and get straight to the good stuff, shall we?

My smile in this picture is utterly ridiculous.  I had never, and have never smiled like this before, or since.  You see, my new {then}boyfriend {you may remember his obscured likeness from my Prom photos} had accompanied me to the gym to have my photo taken.  As I was only sixteen at the time, and I was being stared at by my first "real" boyfriend {just know that I fully admit to have been a nerd, and I can hear you as you cackle and cry "dork!"}, I was a tad nervous!

Also, what is that thing hugging my face?!?!?

Oh yes, that was my version of a "cool" hairstyle.  It was 1999 at the time, but really, I don't think that was fashionable!  Could hair that appears to be the limp, drab, bastard baby of Marsha Brady and Rachel Green's hairdos have ever been in style??

I just don't know.

You may stay to point and laugh at me as long as you like, but you'll also want to click over to Alicia's place for more flashback horror...er, I mean, fun!

Jess...I think you look so pretty, and you STILL look that young! But, I can totally understand being nervous with the new boyfriend looking at ya!

That's a BAD picture? Really! Looks great to me! I'm still trying to remember what I looked like in 11th grade. I'm more than twice as old now....ahem.

You are your own worst critic... seriously!
You're tempting me to do a year book tribute of my own... except I might have to skip a couple years :)

Honestly, I wish ANY of my school pictures looked as "bad" as that.

And you were a junior in 1999? Dear Lord, I am soooooo old.

Thank you so much for casting your vote which led to Rylie's Victorious Smile.

Oh Marcia, Marcia, Marcia - I think your hairstyle is totally far out. I just hate it when people are watching me get my picture taken because I know I don't look real. I think that pic is pretty good though!!! You look happy! Have a good weekend ~ ♥

Are you kidding me? If you had shown me that photo without any of your self-critique, I would have said that it was a lovely photo. You are so pretty!

I'm not kidding around. It's good!

I agree with the rest, you look great, that's a real natural smile and there is nothing wrong with your hair.

You look alright to me. In fact I love the smile. In 1999 I had the 'baddest' hairstyle in the world. Yours is nice. Why didn't I think of that then? Have a great weekend!

Ah, boys - they're always sure to put a silly grin on a girl's face. However, I think the photo is lovely and the smile is sweet! :)
